Hi guy and gals,

Thought I should introduce myself, as you might be seeing me on here quite a bit. Me and missus have brought a new Aygo Platinum with A/C, we will be picking it up on friday :) We were originally after a Blue, as we didnt want the leather interior, as we have in the lexus and I can get very protective about it, but this was on the model in the showroom, therefore it was meant to be, and the alloys are quite stylish, and silver is better colour to keep clean.

I'm looking forward owning this cheeky chappy for the next 3 years and enjoying the savings he will bring. My other car Louise my pride and joy for the last 5/6 years, is an Highly polished Astral Black IS200 Compressor that has been well pampered and had been modified in an performance OEM manner, returns 25mpg when I'm lucky and costs a bomb in routine maintenance, she will now be doing 2k pa, while Aygo will be doing 15k pa.

I have a few questions about the GAP insurance,

Are the companies selling it on the net for £90odd reputable and will they be around in 3 years, my dealer wanted £400.

Has anyone heard of Hitachi financial/insurance, as I have seen GAP insurance offered by them, and the trust them to be around for another 3 years.

Service Plan

I have been quoted £495 for 3years/30k, and its lncludes another 2 years breakdown for the car. Is this worthwhile, or are there better deals to be had. Does the price of servicing vary from dealer to dealer (I know they vary tremendously between lexus stealers). Can one take in their own oil for servicing? (Lexus used to charge £40, used buy oil from Costco for £20) etc.

Cheers

You can get a Toyota Service Plan for £279, if your dealer won't sell it phone another one, the Toyota plan doesn't limit you to a single franchise dealer and is a hell of a lot cheaper. You can then use the money you save to buy your own breakdown cover.
