Love my Aygo, hate the naff parcel shelf popping off at the slightest provocation. Anyone found an easy fix or replacement?

I'm tempted to make a couple of holes each side & create a loop of elastic to hold it on the little lugs.

I guess if this is the biggest annoyance in my life I shouldn't complain.... ;)

Do you mean the rear shelf over the luggage compartment, rather than the one in front of the passenger seat?

If so, mine is secure and has never misbehaved or popped off.

Perhaps yours is not quite up to spec.

Perhaps too loose on the lugs, or too short, or something.....?

Yes, rear shelf. Pops off the lugs every time I open the hatch or take a roundabout at more than 5mph.

yea mine did this today so upon shutting the boot it fell into the boot :D

bit annoying

Could the design of the rear shelf have changed at some point?

My Aygo is a late 2006 model, and to get the shelf out (when about to fold the seats for example) I have to give it a really firm hit from underneath to disengage it from the lugs.

If I don't give it a good thump, it ain't going anywhere, and it certainly would not come loose going round corners or on bumpy roads.

Either mine is a "good" one, or the design (or quality control) must have changed.

tbh I dont think there is an actual problem with the parcel shelf.

Its just because of the boot being so small upon taking out objects it is easier to knock the parcel shelf (espcecially if a tight fit object)

have done the above a couple of times which is only when it has come out. It would be impossible for it to unclip whilst driving since the rubber peices on it press against the boot and therefore keep it intact

I actually modified the clippy bits on the shelf so the shelf wasn't as

tight on the lugs, allowing me to remove the shelf single handed :D

Mines in the garage along with the glovebox lid. Anything that proves annoying goes in the garage.

My wife's been in there for 6 months ....

:D

I have two parcel Shelves one I got off someone that had crashed their car in the attempt to put Speakers in them. Both are in the garage because they are a waste of space :)
