Corolla 2004 High Idle

Hi. Ive just bought my first Toyota. A Corolla 2004 1,6VVTi.

What I found strange is that the idle keeps high even at warm engine. It stays often at 1100-1200 rpm.Sometimes even higher. And it does not matter if i drive 2 hours or 15 minutes. It always stay at this idle.

Accept if I let the car stands still and idling for 10 minutes, then the rpm may finally drops to 800rpm. Which I mean is the correct rpm.

I can also feel that the engine gets a bitt uneven cus of this high idling. Specially driving in town, and start and stops. It "jumps" away...or "pulls" of its own.

So I got to the workshop, and they tells me there is nothing wrong. It cant be possible. My uncle has an Avensis 2004 (looks like its the same enginge), and its NOT like that...

So, hope any technicians can help me here. And may tell me what to do/what to look for/what could be wrong?. Is this a "known" problem for this Corollas btw?
