Aygo Died On Me In Middle Of Belfast On A Hill

40 mins into the journey, was at a red light on a hill junction, it conked out whilst in neutral. Started it up and immediately conked out three times in arow.

Started it again whilst continually giving it petrol and it kept running, got out of there but half a mile down the road it conked out again. I noticed the Battery light

came on, but no I had not left the light or radio on previously and as I already said I was near the end of my journey.

More bizzarely, I started it again and it worked fine. Got to my mates house another mile down the road. Turned it off. Turned it on again to paralled park an

worked fine, hours later I drove back home (40 miles after getting out of belfast and leaving everyone home) with no problems.

I'm obviously going to phone the dealership and say what happened and that I want it looked at, but any idea what the hell actually happened??:unsure:

Dunno - can't wait for you to tell us though (when, hopefully, the mechanic diagnoses and sorts the problem).

Aygo Died On Me In Middle Of Belfast On A Hill

Sound like a blues number to me. ;)

I stalled mine reversing uphill to parallel park once and cos there was traffic behind me and I was flapping, I tried to restart without putting it in neutral or lettting the ECU reset. Had to rev the balls off it to stop the engine stalling. Turns out I need to put it in neutral, turn the ignition all the way off for a few seconds, then restart.

No idea if that's related to your problem at all- it's just when you mentioned that you had to rev like crazy to keep the engine going it reminded me.

Hope it's nothing serious and that you get it sorted.

Now the radio and cigarette port do not work at all. WTF?

They're on the same fuse, probably blown...

Fuse is under the cover over the speedo; totate the steering wheel to 3 and 9 o' clock to

expose and remove the screws, then carefully pull/pry the cover up, exposing the fuses.

It's the middle fuse on the lefthand side of the speedo if I remember correct,

should be a 15A (blue) fuse. This fuse is also related to the start inhibitor,

so it MAY have something to do with your earlier problems.

You Broke it LOLZ! Trust You! Thrashing your motor :P

Jst checked and all the fuses are fine, gonna have to get it left in :|

I presume that charles hurst in portadown (Vauxhall) Can still do the work on it?

Did you look at the fuse or actually change it???

Sometimes fuses can LOOK fine, but still be blown.

If you've got a multi meter you can try measuring over the fuse: there are two

little metal protrusions on the back, on each ide of the number showing the amps.

With the ignition on and the meter in the 20V range put the pins of the meter on

both protrusions. If the fuse is "loaded" (which the radio does) and blown you

should measure about 12V over the fuse. If you measure no voltage at all

the fuse is either blown or not loaded (in use).

In that case I'd swap the fuse just to be sure...

I have been through this stalling fiasco a few times. What I do is take the key out, lock and unlock the car with the key fob and then restart. This seems to reset everything. I spoke to the dealer and he said he hasn't heard of this problem before but I should bring it in and the car may give a fault code (I never did take it in, time is money and all that)

Strangely enough my radio packed in a few weeks ago, it was just a fuse which had blown. The dealer replaced it but had no idea why it blew in the first place.

got a call earlier, it's ready to be picked up!

Everythings running fine now, they said it was an issue with some of the wiring, but replaced the fuses anyway.
