How Do You Deal With The 'nova Boys'

Had a bit of bother with a corsa today.... not for very long though. :)

Toyo

HKS

Greddy

And some other ****ty ones like 'kenwood' I don't care what stereo you have, nob head.

I do loads and loads of motorway driving. What I've noticed is that when I go to overtake someone they decide to speed up, or when they are overtaking me, they decide to slow down. What's all that about!? :wacko:

Don't know if they're checking out my car or wanting a race.

As for traffic light grand prix. I usually just avoid eye contact and keep calm, even when some to*ser is revving his engine and winding down the window coughing trying to get my attention. Or is that coughing from all the fumes/tyre smoke he's creating! :D

Plus a 4A-FE isn't that mighty against a lot of cars, so i've convinced myself (I'm far too old for my years)

The sound of my exhaust normally scares the **** out of most people when they try it.

It really is tremendously loud. No way is it legal - On a motorway I quite easily drowned out a TVR Chimera that I was having a muck about with. The 288 GTO that was also joining in the fun, however, was LOUD!!! :o

If they persist then I'll give it my best shot if it's safe to do so. If it's not safe I just let them get on with it. I pulled a good couple of car lengths on a Civic Type R off of a roundabout and through the twisties earlier in the week. I have a pretty good launch technique, you see, and he didn't ;)

What I really like is mucking about with people on motorways though. Most people are normally game for a laugh. I recently had a bit of fun with a very tasty bird in a Fiesta who overtook me at what was probably about 90mph. I caught her up then stayed dead alongside before easing off and moving round behind her (oooh errr) to overtake. When I moved back to the left I let her catch up and overtake me again. She was really nailing her Fiesta so just as she drew alongside me I dropped it a gear and floored it :D Could see her laughing to herself in the rear view mirror :D

you guys think u have it bad... switch all those novas and escorts with honda civics of all sorts, honda accords of all sorts, acura integras of all sorts and u have the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! im serious... so its early sunday morning, im making my way to church.. and i hear a little bumble bee next to me.. low and behold.. its a stupid honda.. they always back of when i blow off next to them... they drop like.. 3 cars back.. and im like okay.. then they down shift and fly right past and turn on their hazards.. then they point and laugh like they left me in the dust.. then when i catch up, they always seem to make a turn somewhere.. damn them.. it suck here.. like.. one time.. i was at the side of the road cuz my car was sputtering.. so im trying to see whuts wrong and a little honda revs at me while driving by.. talk about !Removed! :ffs:

SMiFFAD's nova story.......

The "racers":

1 x 200sx ~260BHP 0-60 5.79....

1 x bright yellow rusty nova.... performance unknown....

Now id been working on my car that weekend at was hitting boost cut quite regularly as i hadnt ajusted the boost down properly after de-catting, BUT....

Cruising along the motorway i pass mr nova and i turn off at the next junction. Mr nova appears right behind me.....thought nothing of it as id slowed down a bit. As we get to a set of lights before a long duelcarrage way he comesinto the lane next to me.... SMiFFAD feelign smug decides to humor him....... Lights change, bothe take off, i get the drop on him and am pulling away, then something rather odd happened..... doing about 100leptons, and he's gaining :blink: my foots right to the floor just into fourth..... he just manages to nudge past me throwing flames out the back... then i realise, its a nova yes.... but its got a sodding calibra turbo engine in it :unsure: oh the smae, beaten by a nova :ph34r:
