When Did The Oct 1st 2008 Price List Begin?

According to a local franchised dealer the price list for 1st October 2008 began on 1st September 2008 for any car that would not be delivered and register before 1st October. Does this sound right?

This is what I discovered before the local dealer came back with the answer above. I checked on the Toyota web-site and it displayed the pre-October prices. I rang up Toyota to ask about the list price and I was initially asked if I wanted to talk to a local Toyota dealer about prices. After further conversation, I was given the telephone number for Toyota HQ, and on ringing them initially they responded with pre-October prices until I pressed them a little more and then got them to check and confirm that yes there was an October price increase (which by the way is 323 UKP on a T-Spirit) but that they thought that it shouldn't apply until October. Note: I've used the word "thought" rather than the customer relations knowing or confirming what Toyota GB policy was for when the Oct pricing should began with a franchised dealer.

I am unsure who to believe, although the Dealer's Sales Manager did sound convincing but them I have a feeling that I am a sucker:-(

As far as I am aware.... if you order your car and pay the deposit then you will get the pre increase price even if delivered after 1st October.

Go along to the deal and push them again. In your post you say "323UKP" Is that the same as £323

Yes, in principle, but I think it is too late with only one day left and I am not free tomorrow. Had this happened early in the month, I would have been more dogged in persuing it.

Question, was Toyota GB forcing the dealer to shoulder some of price increase for September whilst Toyota GB continued to advertise to the public the pre-October price?

Sorry, yes, I was using UKP to mean the GB currency symbol, maybe I should have used GBP? - My laptop has a US keyboard so it doesn't have a British pound sign key, and I am running linux and I've never gotten around to figuring out to enter that symbol or change the key codes.
