Hi All !

Ive just won this on ebay;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260289162624

For the money I thought it would be worth a punt - if it does what the guys says then it should pay for itself in no time with increased economy !

Has anyone got any views on these units - or even better any experience ?

Many Thanks

Nat

Not experiance what-so-ever with this unit, but it does beg the question if they can get more power and better MPG from this 'chip' which doubtless costs only pence to manufacture - then why did Toyota (or whoever) not fit them from new?....... just all seems a little 'if something sounds to good to be true..etc'.

There again it might be a superb investment... ;)

That type of chip box is not usually very good. They are not mapped in any way and just work of the common rail pressure sensor. The type that are mapped and know your throttle position are much better and more controlled, I doubt the screw on the side will do much either

Good luck with it, any improvement in MPG has to be good

We do a full range for all D4D models except T180 and ours are £375

Kingo

Hi Nat,

I had one in my Audi 1.9Tdi 2001 model. It worked when the guy sold me the car then within a month it started to play up.

The car would lose all power and die of death, till you stopped and waited 2-3mins and start it up again and the car was fine. So i removed the chip Box to see if that made any odds to which it did. So i left it out and got a refund from th guy i bought the car from.

Now i have an 07 plate 2.0Tdi Audi A4 S-Line and got the ECU Re-mapped which is much better

Hope this helps

Doug ;)

Cheers Kingo ! I'll give it a whirl. Sounds like a crude devise - im assumin it wont damage the motor in any way ? Also -Is the MPG indicator still accurate ?

Yes - I was too speptical about the advantages of a chip, butI guess the reason they are not like that from new is because effectivley, a new car is compromised by emmissions etc ?

I'll let you know how I get on - may be back for one of kingos !

Nat
