Rear Bumper Film

Hi

Just about to fit bumper protection film on my new XTR but have hit a snag.

The film folds over the end of bumper for about 20-25mm but as I have rear parking sensors the film will end up going over them.

Anyone had this problem? Can I remove the sensors, fit the film and then trim it before refitting sensors. If I can

Is there an easy way to remove sensors without removing bumber first.

Regards and thanks for any info.

Are you fitting the genuine Toyota film?

If so it goes well up to the existing plastic applique and only just wraps over the lip of the bumper;

If you have a rear door with no spare wheel the bumper is shallower so I guess the only way is to trim it to suite. I think it will look odd folded down the bumper. The sensors do just prize out if you choose that option.

When fitting the film I can tell you to make very sure that the bumper is absolutely spotless. The instructions give the impression that you only get one chance but mine was off and on about six times until I was satisfied. I used a spray for the water as shown but there was dirt in it which showed under the film so off it came again! The wetter the film gets the easier it is to work but use a clean jug rather than a spray because that way you can see the water is clean. Once you have it located just keep chasing bubbles out with a squeagy. Now it has dried it does not show signs of lifting even on the edges.

Good luck,
