Two Square Patches On Bottom Of Rear Doors

Recommended Posts

I have just bought a Corolla Verso and have noticed there are two patches at the bottom of both the rear doors. Does anyone know what these are?

Any ideas will be appreciated.. :D

Funny you mention these patches, i had two patches i found on my new landcruiser bumper some time ago they turned out that neither should have been there, take a look at the same model in the showroom and see if they belong as i do not know your model maybe someone can give you more information in the forum.

I do not want to alarm you but !!!

The ones found on my car should not have been there, they turned out to be stick on colour patches that had been put there by someone before i took delivery to cover up a bad scratch underneath one and the other covered nothing and had been evenly spaced to look as if it was meant to be their, my dealership was kind enough to respray the whole of the rear bumper.

they are antichip patches. they are put on in key areas to stop stones damaging the paint.

Pictures please from it ???

Most Toyota's have anti chip patches on specific areas like the bottom of doors and rear quarter panels, they are only small clear plastic patches. Early Yaris are a classic example as they were a little bigger than most cars

I have these on the rear doors of my Verso, I thought they were some sort of protection and just left them on.

Thanks for the replies. Especially from Parts-king and Dawesy, the garage has also confirmed they are Anti-chip patches to protect against stones etc where the rear door curves out slightly.
