Enabling The Daytime Running Lights

St Thicket

I've just bought a 2004 corolla 1.6 VVT-I, that has been imported from Germany to Norway. In Norway, there is mandatory with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and in germany it's not. Unfortunately, when I trun on the lights when it's bright outside, the visibility of the gauges are redused due to the dimming...

So, would it be possible to enable daytime running lights? If so, is it easy? Does anyone have the wiring diagram or the procedure for this? I'm an electronics engineer, so I might be able to figure it out by myself, but it would be easiest having a diagram...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Push the button on the dash thats for changing from ODO to other possebilytes -- then you get to see this : -----

when you hold the button pushed you wil see the light become brighter or darker but you only can do this with the lights turned ON ;)

Thanks, but I'm already aware of this. However, I would prefer to have automatic headlights rather than having to adjust the gauge light all the time.

you could tap the igniton onto a relay and then the headlights, that would sort out.

Yeah, that could be an option.

I thought maybe there was just a small wire that should be added or something? Or maybe just a command to the ECU?

*BUMP*

Does anyone know? Or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the headlights, so that I might figure it out by myself?

Any help would be much appreciated!
