Hi All

Looking to splash more cash, well maybe

Partner said she might lend me some money to buy better/newer Rav.

What year/models have the space saver wheel that I need to stay away from ?

Are not all Rav4 from 2001 onwards 4wheel drive, if not which are 2wheel only ?

I have seen some adverts in Autotrader descriptions mention "traction control" and others not, do some have this and others not ?

Hi Gunner

Well, non have a space saver wheel - they either have a full-size proper spare or no spare at all.

All the RAV4.2s came with a spare wheel

The RAV4.3 vary depending on the spec and the date (they started droppng the wheels from the top spec going down as time went on, basically)

may be worth posting the sort of budget you have to get a more detailed response from various members

I wasn't aware of any 2 wheel drive RAVs in the UK. Are there any? Or are they imports rather than proper to the UK?

As an aside, now the frosty mornings are here, the rate at which my 94 RAV heats up is fantastic for getting the cabin warm. Within 1 mile things are hotting up!!!

There are a few 1.8 2WDs about but they are few and far between. Robert has one so maybe the 5 doors are more of a Continental version. As Hoovie says there were some 3 door 4.2s.

My old Corolla 1.3 started to feel warm within seconds, even on a real frosty day but these diesels (don't start!) do take much longer. All 4.3 diesels have an electric heating element inside the heater to assist the heater to come up to temperature and it still isn't quick.
