Possible Faults

so after doing a complete new brake setup (ebc pads, greenstuff pads, new anti squeel pads, new springs and location pins, and also painting my calibers orange i take it out on the road later on and i can hear a sort of binding noise

i think nothing of it and assume that its my brakes bedding in sinces its new pads and disks, anyway this noise just wont go away and it dosent change when i brake hard or softly.

so i this morning i assume that i didnt spin the hand brake adjust off enough and there is still some contact between the handbrake pads and the disk, so ive re adjusted that right back so that the handbrake has to be right up before it takes a hold so that i can take it out of the equation for noise making.

anyway as soon as i got the wheel back on the heavens opened up and it started ****** it down and it still hasnt stopped.

i took the car back out later on and i can still hear the noise so i keep bedding in the brakes and it does get a bit quieter but the noise is still there.

but now if i go round a right hand bend the noise goes away, if i go round a left hand bend the noise starts, ive now got my suspicions that its something else as the noise sounds diffrent, this is my first time with grooved disks and maybe its ment to sound like that

but is there any other things that could be causing this noise

top of my list to check when it stops raining is that none of the anti squeels or the shim that holds the brake pads in place isnt fouling against the disk.

all cylinders are working as i checked them, part of me is thinking that it might be the wheel bearing (is there anyway to check the bearing without removing the hub)

and also since its all new when i pushed back they cylinders the break fluid was over flowing, could this also be a possible reason ?

If the noise goes when you corner i would look for things rubbing on the rear of the discs myself. Poss the backplates rubbing on discs or as you say the shims fouling the discs.

The fluid overflowing when pushing back the pistons wont affect anything.

had all the wheels off now, removed calipers had a look around, put them back on, cant seem to reproduce the noise, just waiting to get the car out of the driveway now before i can test drive it,

still getting the noise.. running out of ideas im pretty sure its coming from the n/s/r

ive checked them before and i cant see nothing fouling the disk how do i check to see if the piston is sticking, or how would i know if the wheel bearings are gone ?

when i brake i dont feel any judder in the steering wheel and if i slam on the brake they brake as normal. is there any other sort of test i can do to get a better idea of the problems.

or am i being paranoid about the brakes and really the front brakes get used more than the rear brakes and its just taking them a while longer to bed in ?

finally found the problem.

it was rubbing on the plate that sits just behind the handbrake pads. when i put the new disk on i should of fitted the wheel and checked it was spinning before putting on the caliper.

ohwell lesson learned problem solved
