hey 'gain, ive aslready got a topic on other things, but just ahh found a slight wierdo thing here

just getting my sera on friday, i decided to double check the levels for everything

now to my knowledge, the Engine coolant is meant to be water, sometimes people mix antifreeze in it aswell, but when i opened my engine coolant container thing, the liquid inside was black??? i get the feeling thats not right? lol

***edit***

actually i just checked with the local garage as i was out driving, and its fine, its a redish brownie colour and smells kinda like dead prawns, its Toyota brand cooling liquid :P

nope... not right at all mate

time for a flush... add new coolant and the right amount of water now before the big freeze... if it turns black again then you have a problem.

It might be some sort of internal corrosion

You should change the coolant every 36,000 miles - The Toyota Forlife coolant is premixed,so you should always top up with Forlife.

It normally changes to a yellowy/dark orange colour when there is internal corrosion or combustion gas'es getting into it.
