So many factors to take into consideration in trying to answer this question.... bit like how long is a piece of string! Toyota FSH will go some way in giving piece of mind but 200k in 3 years is an awful lot of miles and I for one wouldn't want to rely on it in an emergency.

It is halfway through its life. As long as it is looked after well it can do twice the miles.

Petrol or Diesel? Well you may have some bigger bills to come like fuel pump, turbo, clutch, flywheel ... maybe; but it won't die. I'm sure there are a few taxi drivers around here that could offer their own experiences or friends experiences. There are some VERY high mileage old shape avensis around.

Back at uni I went in an Avensis 2004 reg that had a whopping 270,000 miles! Also a Zafira with 200,000 miles, a Citroen Xsara picasso with 290,000 miles and a Vectra with 310,000 miles.

All of them were going well with just some suspension noises from the Vectra.

So as long as your car has been serviced correctly and regularly I see no problem with it doing another 100,000 - 200,000 again.

I notice you put 200000. Is this miles or KM's?

its kms

200k Km thats barely 125k miles. The last 2 cars ive had (a pug 405 then a pug 406) both had atleast 150K miles on the clock before I bought them. I took the pug 405 to over 200K miles and was still working perfectly when I got rid. So I hope with toyotas reputation of being better built that they could go even further.

Had an ex-Police Omega 3ltr, had done 235k when someone wrote it off (rear ended me,, whiplash etc,,). After that the rear doors didn't shut properly, boot had to be held down with DUCT tape but it still went like ****. Gave it to someone else who eventually sold it to a gent frae the isle of Barra. I was told he planned to put twin superchargers on it....

125 k you will need new water pump new cylinder head gasket new cat new ecu and front shocks and manifolds are failing.

All depends on what is the car worth and the cost to keep it on the road.

Look at used car prices for 04 and 05 reg cars with high miles they are not selling at all.

Sell and buya lower mileage car and hope no big repairs.
