Rear Brake Shoes On Aygo Sport With Abs + Clutch Prob

Recommended Posts

Posted

Can someone please post instructions to replace the front brake pads and rear brake shoes on a Aygo with ABS.

I have an idea of how to do the front pads but just want clarification from someone with more experience than me.

Can i please have the reply ASAP as i believe my brakes are worn to the rivots.

Also, has there been any known squeeking or grinding noise problems coming from the clutch?

thanks

Never done pads on my aygo, but replaced pads on countless other cars, I would imagine, so long as you have a G-clamp, a flat head screwdriver, some allen keys (you might not need these) and a socket set you should be ok. I would have some of the correct lubricant aswell.

RE the clutch, is it slipping at all?

You might also want to give Kwik-Fit(or other motor chain) a call for a price, I have found that sometimes they will do the work so cheaply it's not worth getting messy or soaked doing it yourself.

Just looked at Kwik-Fit, their current deal is:

Lifetime guarantee

To ensure your brakes are always at their best, we offer a unique brakes lifetime guarantee. Once you have pads or shoes fitted at Kwik Fit, the replacement of these parts when they wear out is absolutely free to you, as long as you own the car.

With over 570 brake specialist centres across the UK you can drive in where and when it is convenient to you, no appointment is necessary and with the Kwik Fit life time brake guarantee you are sure of great value.

Which looks like a very good deal.
