Last Saturday, 4th Oct 2008, I bought my first Toyota ever. :o

In recent days I discovered I can find plenty of useful info here on this forum.

I will have some questions too.

My Toyota :

RAV4 T180, 57 reg, just approaching its 1st birthday, 12,000 miles B)

My previous cars :

1. Peugeot 405 S, fancy US version, 1.9 petrol, circa 1994-1996

2. Peugeot 306 XLDT, 1.9 TD, 1996-2000

3. Ford Focus Estate 2.0 petrol GHIA, reg V/1999, 2000-2008

I planned to change the car for some time.

First considered estates e.g. VW Passat or Ford Mondeo.

Since "my girls" saw new Honda CRV they wanted a SUV.

Well, SUV is fine by me as long as it can match the performance of my old Focus :P , and believe me, there were not to many models like that within my budget.

I looked at Toyota RAV4 T180, Honda CRV, VW Tiguan and Ford Kuga.

Except T180, in theory only Tiguan comes with an uprated TD 178bhp but then these Tiguans are fairly hard to find and relatively expensive.

Kuga and Tiguan are also fairly new so good deals on used cars are limited.

At the end I got a good deal on the used T180.

It is fitted with the Style Pack, rear TPA400 parking sensors, roof rails, iPod integration kit plus some more small bits and pieces.

First impression is very good. I am only slightly concerned about the fuel consumption, the RFTs and the design and operation of the iPod kit.

I will post my comments and questions in other threads.

PS

My T180 is pre-rear-camera model so I decided to have it fitted with TPA400.
