Head Unit Install

Got an Alpine head unit a few months ago and decided I'm going to try and fit it myself and save £50

It's the Ida x-001 I think, the iPod one

I had a look on the 107 blogspot but the instructions there were a bit :S

So basically, you unscrew the fan button, pop the centre console out, remove the original headunit, match up the wires, and place the new one in?

As simple as that, anything else I need to know?

Will I need a new facia? A double DIN connector thing?

Same one I fitted, its brilliant

you will need a facia adapter and thats about it, simply remove the panel as shown elswhere, fit the adapter and unit, run the ipod/usb lead to thepanel above the glove box and you can leave your ipod in there

aerial connects directly, you will swap red and yellow power leads and you need to enable the dimmer setting in the headunit menu to make it dim with the lights
