Clutch Pedal

Hi all

I have a Sept 2003 T3-X D-4D which has recently developed a dodgy clutch pedal. On release of the pedal, when near the top, it will stick & then jolt up to the full release....

When you de-press it has an inch or two of travel before it meets any resistance..

Anyone else had this prob before???? All help welcome.

Cheers

Roxton..

There is a known fault with the clutch master cylinder, cars manufactured after April 2005 feature a revised unit but earlier cars are prone to corrosion on the piston and therefore faults such as sticking operation and general lack of smoothness. Although Toyota acknowledged the problem and released a technical notice I don't think they ever issued a wholescale recall or extended the warenty on this component. You might be able to pick one up from one of the parts suppliers on this forum and get your local mechanic to fit it (it would probably be cheaper than going to a main dealer).
