Catalyzer Efficiency Below Threshold

My 2004 corolla (E12) has been unused for a couple of months, and now the engine warning light has appeared. When reading the error code, it say "Catalyzer efficiency below threshold". The light doesn't dissapear unless I clear the code, and then it appears again after an hour of driving.

The light has appeared 4 times now, and it is !Removed! annoying since it also disables the traction control and the skid control...

Will this result in an expencive trip to the dealer, or would this problem dissapear with time? Has anyone else had this problem?

from what the fault comes up with it would indicate your catalyst is not reducing your emissions enough thats y its putting your light on .you could try getting the engine warm and then giving it a good thrashing this might burn of any excess carbon and clear the catalyst but you may need a new catalyst worth a try
