Gen 7 Red

Hi, I've found a 2004 Gen7 Red for sale, looks great with the black body colour and the red interior. It's got £100k miles on the clock which drops it down into my price range (£4 - £5.5k). The question is, is it worth it? I could probably get a normal celica, or even a premium pack celica for similar money with less miles on the clock. Providing the car hasn't been shagged into the ground over the £100k miles what sort of damage will they have done, any common problems for the mileage range?

That's a very good question to which I've given serious thought before replying. You don't mention if it's a "Premium Red", so I'll assume it doesn't have Climate or a Sunroof. I think much depends on the importance you place on these two features, and whether you like Black which is a PITA to keep clean. Personally I would pass this one by and look for a face lift Premium with average mileage in either Lagoon Blue or Chilli Red. You WILL be able to find a nice example for under £5.5K as the price of used Cars is in free fall at the moment. The most important thing is to avoid a pre face lift with the Oil burning issues and buy a "52" Reg. onwards. If required, 17" Wheels and a rear Spoiler can be added as and when for a relatively small outlay. Hope that helps :)

Thanks mate, appreciate the help. It is a premium red, sorry didn't say in original post. I don't mind too much about keeping it clean because when it is clean, the black looks so much better than any other colour, IMO. I was a bit worried about the high mileage so I think I'll take your advice and have a look around and see what I can find.
