We own a Toyota Celica vvti, 99/2000. It seems to be drinking alot of oil, should we be worried? Is there anything we need to do.

Have a search around here. Lots of threads about it.

Car sounds a bit old to benefit from the extended warranty they've put on them for this issue

The Piston Ring/Oil burning issue is on the VVTi Engine, not the VVTi-L/190.

How much is it burning?? If its burning loads, id maybe try changing the oil to 10w40 Semi Synthetic or the thickest oil that the handbook will allow, cant remember what grade it is off hand....may slow it down.

My 190 isnt hard on oil, maybe needs topped up once over 10,000 miles...depends how its driven.
