yet when you had a k&n

at 14 his posts are as informative as yours and tbh he sounds like he has more knowledge

why didnt you use the better piping with the better filter - no latteral thought..............

Thank you, good question and I definitly agree with your thinking!

One question though:

(He wispers so Norfolk n Chance can't hear)

Do you think that replacing my air box with a cold air induction system by AEM would be worth a look at?

The kit costs £200 pounds which makes it much more expensive than panel filters, but I really love the sound of the cold air induction. This is once I've finished filling in all of the body work btw. What do you think?

Expensive kits like the Apexi and Typhoon types have a filter cone encapsulated in ducting, so there's a cold air supply at all times. Its been my experience, that fitting a Cone(K&N or otherwise). Without sufficient cool air, will result in eratic performance. I.e. Fine whilst stonking along, with a gale blowing through the engine bay. Terrible whilst sat in traffic with all that lovely warm engine bay air!

Ultimately, the cone encapluated this way will give far better results than the replacement panel filters you can get, although, if you were considering fitting just the cone, i'd stick with a replacement panel filter, as the fitting of these, requires no further modification. With the little'est devience from the stock set up.

Its all about, how much time effort and dollars you have!!

If you are minted, go and buy Apexi/Typhoon cone(with cold air intake)

If you aint got the time or you don't want to change stock items. Fit a blitz panel(fensport stylee)

If you've got the time on your hands and the use of your noddle, why not buy a K&N cone and build your own induction system(insulated from warm air, whilst ensuring a cold air supply).
