Righto i have not long ripped out all my standard Speakers and fitted all Sony branded Speakers to compliment my Sony Headunit and boy am i chuffed with the result HOWEVER i do now find myself in the situation where i now need to do some fine tuning...

Now obviously the best place to start is to get a sub + amp combo (which shall be gotten shortly fingers crossed!) so i can eliminate all bass from the Speakers and have all bass going to the sub.

Right now though all my bass is going through all 6 speakers and as a result what i thought i heard of crackling noises turned out to be the plastic clips and parts of the dash vibrating.

Has anyone done anything to either stop or overcome this? It's a bit annoying when these tiny little niggles prevent you from enjoying your new plaything!

Just get yourself a proper subwoofer asap :D

I have an active sub unde rthe passenger seat and it really makes a LOT of difference,

even with the OEM Speakers, but driven by a proper Kenwood with internal HPF and LPF.

I replaced my dash Speakers but haven't had any problems with vibration yet, I also disconnected the tweeters not sure if it makes a difference.

But you may be able to answer my question.

What is the depth of the old Speakers in the door of the Aygo ?

I need to order a pair and want to make sure they fit.

If you're referring to the 4" Speakers in the REAR doors; they're the exact same model

as up front in the dash. For the new setup with 6" in the doors I have no idea...

I'm assuming I have the 6" Speakers in the door as the car is only a month old, and the grill looks larger than 4".

Cheers for the advice Jan, will get one asap!

And yes gordonh if your car's a month old and has 6 Speakers then the bottom one's are 6.5"

My sony Speakers are between 5-6cm deep so as long as they dont have a ridiculously large magnet then uprated items will fit fine

Sounds like a large gap in the doors there, I'll order a Blaupunkt set to match the head unit, only 46mm deep so will be no problems.

I need to add a sub too, but I'd better wait till my leak is sorted otherwise It might need to be a sub-(marine)-woofer

let me know which one you go for paul

Please listen to that before you purchase it. A friend of mine purchased a Pioneer slimline 8" with a very similar looking box and it sounded pants. Listen before you spend your money on that.
