Rear Setbelts Locking

Hi

Has anyone else had problems with seatbelts when carrying passengers in the rear. On several occassions now we have had complaints from passengers who claim the seatbelt locks preventing movement! This is clearly uncomfortable, and I confess I have been unable to replicate the problem myself. I do not see why it should only occur when all three belts are being used but that does seem to be the case.

No complaints from passengers I have carried.

If as a rear passenger you move forward very quickly the belt will lock but it is meant to restrain passengers in such circumstances. Try it; sit in the back with seat belt fastened and then move forward very quickly. The belt will lock. Normal movement in the rear should not cause it to lock.

As for most rear belts these days, it may have gone into kiddy seat clamping mode. i.e. ratchet engaged. Need to pull it all the way out then release to return to normal mode.

Has anyone had problems with front drivers belt getting twisted up in the buckle. This has happend a few times when I have used only one hand to buckle up.

Thanks!.......it was indeed the child seat feature being triggered by over zealous passengers pulling far too much belt out before buckling up. They then became pinned to the rear seat prompting much whinging and moaning at how uncomfortable the belts were!
