Accelerator Pedal Travel

Got a mate to have a look at my clutch and he fixed the rattle n squeek but now I don't think my accelerator pedal has enough travel. It's like the cars got a limiter on it and doesn't seem to rev past 5000 RPM

We did take the Battery out for about an hour and Im wondering if the ECU has just reset and that's why the car seems to have less acceleration

Any ideas?

Hi

If its an electronic throttle then the ECU will take some time to relearn what to do, any disconnection of the Battery will clear its memory, just run it around for a bit and it will soon pick it up

It's a cable + throttle body, pretty sure it isn't electronic

But I think the ECU learns your driving habits anyway so what you're saying will probably work

Hi

To confirm that you are getting full throttle, have someone floor it with the engine off and then check that the throttle on the engine is opening fully, i.e. can you open it any more by hand....

If you can't then yeah probably the ECU
