Verso 1,6 Vvt-i Reliability

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am just ordering Verso 2008 model in discount and the only thing I care about is reliability. I also have a new American car with which I have constant serious problems and I plan to sell it. i red through statistics TUV, JD Powers and ADAC and all state that Toyota is reliable car. i also trust models which are before the end of production - all issues should be known and fixed by factory. I wanted to have reliable car, but I just found out that Verso is done in Turkey and not in Japan. Can I rely on this car? Please advise what kinds of problems I can have and how frequent they are.

Toyota has factories all over the world, manufacturing or assembling vehicles for local markets, including the Corolla. Toyota has manufacturing or assembly plants in Japan, Australia, India, Canada, Indonesia, Poland, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Brazil, Portugal, and more recently Pakistan, Argentina, Czech Republic, Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Venezuela, the Philippines, and Russia.

As well as sourcing parts from many third parties e.g. Bosch and Dunlop

The same is true of every car maker in the World today. No one company manufacturers and assembles all of the parts of the vehicles they make. If you believe one car manufacturer is better at putting all of the parts together than another or has a better customer service record than another then that would be the manufacturer to buy your car from. If you believe just because a company has a good reliability record it is not possible for them to make a vehicle with faults then just read any car forum on the internet.

You should pick the car you want to buy on the things that matter to you personally, size, performance, running costs, design etc etc.

I have had my Verso since April (this year) and so far it has been very good. If I had read this forum before buying I would have expected to have the brake discs replaced every 1,000 miles, had damp rear seats and maybe expected DMF issues in a few years time. Maybe those things would have put me off buying the car but as a percentage of Verso sold those with faults are not that many.

Thanks for your replies. I know there are not erorless cars, but I see Toyota has less error rate and also blog is not as negative as with my current car - Dodge Nitro. I hope those DMF issues in Toyota are overcome by factory by now. Can someone explain what those are? Maybe gasoline engines are not as reliable as diesel. Can someone advise on that?

My current american car Dodge Nitro engine did not start while repair shop did not have clue why. Lately my engine broke down completely and I will have this still new car in repair shop for 1 month. There were also problems and recalls with electronics. This is 6th time in repair shop in 12 month and dodge is not taking any measures, e.g. exchanging my car. TUV reliability statistics of new american cars show more than 10% error rate, while Toyota less than 4%. In JD Powers, Toyotas are getting more than 4 stars, american Dodge 2 stars only.

I decided to sell Dodge Nitro and buy Toyota Corolla Verso. I just hope I will not get once more the one falling into 4%.

If you see some american manufacturers to close factories, you see why. There are more people who think like me. Toyota has become no. 1 and it is not difficult to guess why. I will never buy american car brand in my life again. Toyota has good past record and think future too, that is why I am inclied to buy it.
