Hi,

Have a 99 picnic 2.0 3sfe petrol. 80k miles

Once heated up there seems to be a high pitched whistling noise coming from the exhaust (I think) on harder acceleration.? Anyone see this problem before.?

AFAIK the valve seals are also leaking (slight smoke on start up), but would this oil burning cause any problems (blockages..???)with the exhaust to cause this noise.?

Also, when refueling, the petrol pump in most garages cuts out constantly when filling up. I'm presuming this is due to a pressure relief valve or the like being blocked and the back pressure on the petrol pump fooling it into thinking the tank is full.? When you open the cap to refill there is always a gush of air too which makes me think it's not venting properly, Would this seem about right, and if so where is the valve so I can inspect/change.?

Also the spare wheel has started rattling under the car, but my toyota dealer says there aren't any rubber cushions or any other things to hold the wheel securely on the carrier. Should there becushions for this.?

Hopefully someone will have some answers to some of the questions above.

Thanks
