2e Engine Issues

I was looking around on google, and saw few people with problems with this engine. Until I found someone (mr-g) on this thread:

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...st&p=504942

that was talking about the exact problem my car is suffering (bad fuel mileage). I also have a oil leak going on the distributor, and I believe this is what's causing the cylinder misfires I feel sometimes.

My question is, how bad this Distributor vacuum advancer thing? is easy to fix? Also, there was this guy (mechanic) that recommended to have the distributor changed to a electronic one (the one on my car is a breaker-points type). Is this an easy fix too?? I was looking at a used electronic distributor of a 3EE, will this one fit on my engine???

Thanks, any help greatly appreciated.

well, I'm kind of DIY guy, so while I'm not a mechanic, I don't have problems to fix something to my car and learn by the way :). I changed the breaker points, condenser, rotor, and dist cap. Any suggestions?

My mileage didn't get any better. My last tank (10 Gallons reg) lasted me less than 320 Kilometers :( I think for a car with such a engine, it's horrible fuel economy :(

*EDIT*

to add mileage.
