Auris 2.0 D4d Starting Problem

Hello,

Because my dealer doesn't know how to fix the problem of my Toyota Auris, I turn to this forum for help.

Please don't pay attention to my poor English as I am from Belgium.

My car:

Toyota Auris 2.0 D4D linea sol with key less entry and start-stop switch.

The problem:

In the morning (most of the times, but not always), the engine starts badly.

It has difficulties getting above 1000 RPM and it takes up to 5 seconds before the engine runs like it should.

Sometimes the engine even needs a second start because it stops running after a few seconds.

The countermeasures:

The dealer replaced the starter.

Later on he cleaned the valves (he blames the new diesel fuels!)

still no result...

Did anyone had the same problem? What can I do about it?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello,

I have heard of similar issues with Auris. The cause was:

- poor quality diesel

- faulty fuel injector (computer test should reveal that)

- STP added to the fuel was a solution :)- for some

- faulty or dirty EGR- when engine is cold doesnt work properly

Could be worth to give it a go.

I would suggest EGR valve clogging up/sticking as said above. V common on 1AD&2AD engines.

Also an ECU reflash should be carried out by dealership.

Mart.

The problem is fixed!

After consulting Toyota Belgium, my dealer found out it were the injectors.

They replaced them and since that day the problem never reoccured!

I am having this problem myself... Luckily, tomorrow I'm taking the car to the dealer to get the injectors replaced under warranty as well.

mines done this a couple of times but only since the 10,000 mile service. think the dealer has reflashed the ecu cos it does drive better when warm.
