Please can someone help me....when I shut the passenger door, the door open light comes on, but, when I open the door....the light goes off!!!! How do I sort this ???As I cannot lock the door using the fob (because the car thinks the door is open!) Its a Carina e P-reg.

I would first check the door switch om the pillar. Remove the rubber cover and un bolt. You may find that the switch is rusted/broken which is causing a short-circuit.
