Sat. Nav. - How Do You Mount Yours?

I'm currently considering replacing my Navman Sat Nav which after two years of use can no longer have it's maps updated. I'm leaning towards a TomTom as they seem to support their products for a decent length of time.

So my question is "How do you mount yours"?

As the Auris Windscreen is so far away, a windscreen mount isn't always the best option, has anyone fitted and used a Brodit Pro-Clip like the one on the attached photo?

It would be great to hear all your opinions and suggestions, despite all the rules and regulations governing Sat Nav use while driving, we all have had to make quick adjustment at some point haven't we? At this point the right mounting option is important.

When I final get round to buying one (if Santa doesn't deliver), I'm going for the Brodit Pro-Clip or similar. This way, the front passenger has access to the sat nav if need be as well.

I have the brodit mount shown in the photo. It is excellent, in a nice position and sturdy. It's expensive but worth it! B)

(i use it with a garmin btw)

The only downside is that with my diesel Auris, there is a faint resonance in the dash when the car is cold, the rigid nature of the mount means that this is transmited through to the sat nav and can make it vibrate (no noise, but it looks weird), it clears up under a minute from startup though

Cheers for the info, I've ordered that Brodit Clip now.

Just a further question if you don't mind. Is it dead easy to fit, and no chance of damage or marks to the dashboard?

I'm using this:

Much cheaper. 20 euro i think.

Yeah, it's easy peasy. It didn't mark mine, but if you want to be careful, place a little bit of masking tape on the edge of the dash where you are clipping it on and remove it once you've attached it successfully, (hopefully the tape would take the scrape instead of the dash) but it shouldn't be necessary

My Brodit Clips for my Auris, and TomTom Go arrived today, and this is what they look like assembled prior to fitting.
