Hi,

I'm kinda a Toyota owner at the moment... I've owned a van for a few months and not driven it anywhere yet!

After a successful trip all the way around Australia in a Hiace camper we thought we'd try to re-live the feeling at home... queue eBay... we found a 1977 yellow Hiace which was just like our Australian one that was ending in a few hours, we didn't have time to see it and I know it's a risk (and a wee bit stupid considering it's an old van!) but it had 12 months brand new MOT so bought it...

Driving it home the brakes pulled to one side to I took it to our local garage who found a whole list of reasons why it shouldn't have passed its MOT, most were small points (horn not working, new Wiper Blades etc) but the brakes were well off... the guy who sold it agreed to fix the brakes and a do a couple of patches of welding.

3 months later he's still playing with the brakes, so I'm now off to the "want to buy" forum to ask for some parts!

Tim

Excellent van !

Good luck with the repairs and welcome to TOC

Thanks!

I just hope we can actually get it going for next year, we've completely missed what little summer we've had this year! :(
