1982 Corolla Help

Hi everyone.

I have a 1982 Toyota corolla, 3tc engine, 4 door.

I've seen other corollas of the same year on car domain and they have both driver and passenger side view mirrors.

Mine never came with a passenger side view mirror.

So i was wondering if anyone knows where to get the other passenger side view mirror.

Is there a special site i can order it from, or some site for old corollas?

If anyone can help me out, that would be awesome

Your Toyota main dealer will still be able to get these.

Failing that why not get a pair of 'retro JDM' style 'fender mirrors' these also are still available from Toyota.

The 'Classic' JDM/Fender mirrors as fitted to this Celica (and of the type fitted to all 70's and early 80's Japan home market cars that were 'a bit sporty' )

Are still available from any Toyota Dealer.

AND I will try and fInd part number for tomorow - which I do still have because I bought a set my self for a 70's Project two year ago.

ok well i'll give the dealer a try, but i kinda still want to have my mirrors on the door. So even if i cant get the original mirrors, and i find a different pair that i like, does anyone know how to change them out on a 1982 toyota corolla.

My book doesnt say anything about side mirrors, and i was wondering how you do it.

Do you have to take off the door panel to remove that black triangle guard on the inside of door (and outside door on passenger (since it didnt come with a mirror)) or is there a way to pop it off without taking off door panel.

Any help will be appreciated.

Part numbers for 'fender' mounted are:

87910 14070

&

87970 14070

OR

14910 14070

&

14970 14070

As for door mirror mounting (from experiance of early 80's cars) usually - you prise away black triangle on inside (beware taking door trim of an old car - usually the hardboard backing can crack very VERY easily!) and then push out the 'outside triangle' from inside.

Also if mirror has any metal fixings in side plastic (or if it actually has a metal base) again beware as this 'metal' is normally a 'mazak' metal (nicknamed 'monkey metal' in Britain) and it cracks very easily - it is the same metal toy cars are made of!
