When Does The Novelty Wear Off?

Hello everyone,

I've just found this forum so thought I would give it a go.

I've had my 2004 Prius for just over a year, I bought it off eBay of all places and the novelty of driving this gadget on wheels still hasn't worn off!

I think I was born to drive a car like this.

Smug moments;

Next to a 4x4 tractor at traffic lights, it's chugging away and I'm sat there silent and economic.

The impressed "wow" from my 14 year old son in the back at the surge of power when I overtook a Sunday driver on an "A" road.

Decelerating toward a junction, knowing you're storing energy ready to pull away again.

You may have guessed, I love my Prius.

Alan.

Hi there Gadget Geek?,

It's odd from your message, I'm not sensing that you are gadget obsessed at all.

As a geek, wouldn't you being tell us what you love about your gadget, not about your smug attitude to what other people drive?

Why didn't you buy a T-Spirit? (it has more gadgets)

Unless of course you are sitting next to a Lexus...

RX 400h

GS 450h

LS 600h

All of which will give you all of the above with the extra smugness of knowing you can still drive a gas guzzler and get away with zero congestion charge because you have a hybrid and in the case of the LS, still punt out over 200g/km of CO2

Ah, yes, I forgot about them. Good point.

I would have loved the spirit but it was beyond my budget. Talking about all the gadgets in a Prius on this forum would be like preaching to the converted.

Ah, given the age, I didn't think there would be that much difference in price between a 2004 T4 and T-Spirit?

What does Alans forum name have to do with his choice of what he posts.... or the spec of his car for that matter?

Some way to welcome a new member, by being rude to them!

Yup, in hindsight I shouldn't have read more than was written into what was posted and the nick name.

Sorry, Gadget Geek, please don't be put off by me - I'll try to promise to sit on hands and think before posting.
