The front headlight has been re-aligned since the pic above was taken.

The car is in good overall condition but needs attention to the gearbox, the synchros are worn in second gear and as a result crunches slightly when selecting 2nd up or down the box......the car is however still perfectly drivable.

I had a chat with a guy who I bought my autoacoustics boxes off a couple of months ago, he had sold his MR2, I think it was circa 1992, a lot of miles like yours. He put it in the autotrader, had 7 calls, sold it next couple of days!

Young lads like that car mate, try and sell it for a slightly higher price than you would expect, then drop it.

Yeah, I'll give it a go in March when I get my redundancy......Bring on the boyracers.....if it came to it I'd probably take about £1800 for it maybe less so it isn't sat in my garage.....whatever money I get from it is getting ploughed into a Supra or a 300ZX TT anyway....

Have a look on eBay too. MR2's sometimes do rather well on there. Just lump on a reserve and see what happens..... If's only the gearbox at fault somone on this board might take it off your hands for a reasonable sum.

I looks pretty clean, has a t-bar and leather. All good things. What is the niggle with the gearbox. It may be better to fix it and sell at a higher price maybe?

Alright M8

Gearbox problem is just worn synchros in 2nd (looks to be quite a common fault judging by some of the posts on here), if you drive steady and change up or down to 2nd below 1500-2000RPM there is no problem, If you change up or down and anything above that speed then there is an annoying crunch as 2nd is selected.....I've been quoted £400 to have the box dropped out, sent to Leeds to get synchros replaced/reconditioned and then re-installed......But I really don't think I can be bothered with the hassle...rather just let it go and start again....

Also as it's an early UK spec is has no PAS as it was an option on UK cars......not that it's really needed there's not a lot of weight over the front...therefore I don't think it's worth me doing the gearbox and without PAS it may put some people off.....

Anyone on here who thinks they could fix it could bag themselves a bargain. :D

the non PAS is fine .. I've driven both and the only broblem is 3 point turns and turning the wheel at 0 mph .. but it was lighter than my old AX ..

Mine is non PS , I made sure when I bought it, cos I dont actually like PS. To be honest mate I really would just put up with the agro and sort it, £400 could add £800 to the price.

I don't think it'd be worth quite that much........I might bang it in the trader at £2200 and see what happens......they're would be plenty of room to negotiate on that.....If I'd go down to say £1800-£1900......

Remember it's got 122k on it, that's twice what some imports the same age have on....and they are going for £2500-£2800 where I am......my import cost me £200 quid more than the UK GT and has 57K on ......

I'll have a go...
