Plus its 0-100 is slower than our TS, on that website our TS figures seem near enough correct, me and a friend did a 0-60 time on my TS and i got 6.87 from a stop start with traction on.

Had a run with a mk5 didnt look as tho it had a DSG box it wasnt really equal he stayed infront the same distance from start off as i had to catch him but i couldnt get neck with him because we didnt start side by side. Again i dont think much in it either, If they have the dsg box then theyll probably leave us a fair bit.

We are nearly 130KG lighter, they are around 7bhp more than us tho. VAGWEB.COM reckons we are faster 0-60 and for a quater mile time.

Personally golf gtis dont impress me much considering there 2.0litre turbo blocks and even with a turbo they dont leave us far behind. The older 150bhp with a turbo was weak. 1.8 engine with a turbo only producing 150bhp thats not impressive.

He did meet me up at the next stop and just sped off angrily.

:lol::lol:

Now I don't normally race people, but the other day a driver in a 5 series diesel thought he could overtake me on a dual carriage way and cut in before the lanes merged into one.....boy was he surprised !! :lol:

But be warned, :o don't go anywhere near the Mini Cooper JCW's they are fast, I mean, seriously fast :jawdrop::jawdrop: . Girl at work has got one, she must have been at least 5 car lengths ahead and pulling away even with me well into Lift.

they are fast them little minis, some owner of the t-sport mentioned his mate had one and said it didnt blow us to bad after a certain speed but from there specs i can see what you mean! little animals them cars very hard to tame.

The specs of that mini are real impressive, its 208bhp......torque kicks in from 1250rpm all the way to 5000 which is impressive. Itll pick up like anything considering the cooper s will pick up fast anyway as i had a run with one. Torque on them is the reason theyll leave you, theyll be to far ahead before you hit lift. I reckon that mini is on par with the vxrs and new sts.

well, i think the difference is that you take a stock 2.0 turbo and race it vs a slightly modded 2zz that you cant mod muhc more out of and it will be close given the weight difference.

After a remap, Intake etc in a 2.0T i believe it would leave the corolla behind, especially above 60 mph.

the older 1.8T was available in numerous spec right up to 225bhp which is a nice number. the 150bhp are like detuned for low insurance/emmissions/cost/reliability purposes for cars like the Passat as motorway mile munchers.

i have driven a 1.8T in a single seater formula palmer car at a palmer race day, trust me they are quite quick in the right application!

i also went out in a good 60 mile round trip 07 BMW 325D slushbox with my mate driving, that thing is quick, again above 50-60 i think it would out pull the Corolla TS without too much effort and would definately nail it with an ecu remap.

My mate has the Edition 30 Golf and to be honest there wasn't to much in it upto about 80 but from there he started to pull away, was glad to see another red traffic light up ahead

Ok, had a "run in" with my work colleagues Range Rover Supercharged HSE, remapped to 314hp at the wheels (400+ hp at engine bay). Boy was it fun as I find it so funny that a remapped 4.2 V8 Supercharger was matched by my stock naturally aspirated little 1.8 CTS. I suppose the Range Rover is very quick for its size & weight. Definitely no slouch.

My colleague was astonished how quick the CTS was! Just goes to show that its a very underestimated car.

its true - had a stock MCS (turbo) untill few weeks ago even that (ie not JCW) pulls in any gear and high 30's mpg to and corners on rails. My TCS is quick but needs to be worked, (and lowered!) but it was nearly 18K cheaper :o and i love it :)

but if you want to really see a modified MINI look at this one - http://www.gtt.uk.com/miniturbo.asp i think it was nearer 360bhp when it went on the dyno earlier this year. It was a supercharged MCS which they took off and put Turbo on - and is very drivable even with all the power trough front wheels. He really knows about tunning cars and used to bring it reg' to our local club.....wonder if he would like to play with a CTS??? B)
