Toyota Sprint Series

Last Saturday evening the last round of the Toyota Sprint Series was held at Teesside Autodrome. This was a night race with no floodlighting :o

I think everybody found it very challenging as we were on a wet track which had had drift cars on it all day, so most of the racing line was covered in slippery rubber.

I drove the Aygo again for this final round, but unfortunately although the cornering was good it just didn't have enough power to keep up on a circuit with long straights, high-speed corners and twisty up-hill sections. Moreover, I kept losing the back end in corners which led to some exciting moments in the pitch darkness when the headlights weren't pointing in the direction I was going

Was unable to overtake Barry in the Supra this time, he having a comfortable six-hundredths of a second lead :P

It's been a fantastic year for the whole series, and we've had a wide variety of different tracks on which to race. I'd really recommend the Sprint Series to anybody who fancies some cheap motorsport thrills next year. Aygo drivers especially welcome B)

I drove home on Sunday, but stopped off in Mansfield to watch a rally where this car was competing:

There are some very nice bits on the Copcutt car, which I got to have a look at during the lunchtime service break. Those guys are proper racers, so I've got my shopping list over to them already Pretty sure I will be able to go quicker in the TSS next season

Glad you enjoyed it up here again and I fully agree that there should be more Aygo's entering the series next year.
