V5 Details

Hi all.

I know I'm being picky but my wife recently bought a Yaris 1.3 VVT-i Blue and on the log book (V5) it states that the colour is silver. Now, I know in certain light conditions it "may" look silver but it's not. It's a Yaris 1.3 VVt-i BLUE . Not silver or any other colour. It is Ice Blue!

I know on the log book silver is probably the nearest descriptive colour but I just had to get it off my chest as it's a nice shade of BLUE :) !

Don't worry about it, it's correct, might be because it's metallic, I can't remember what my old yaris blue was on the logbook (same colour as yours)

I had the same, my yaris was thunder grey and it said silver on the logbook, my celica is thunder grey and it says grey on the logbook. Not so noticeable as yours

I think they class it as "Silver" because its closest to Silver....

They aren't colour specific on the V5.... they go for the closest possible from the brief list they have which probably just consist of:

Silver, Black, Red, Green, Blue & Yellow

And they just choose the closest!

But it really does look more like Silver than Blue!

I wouldnt usually do this, but I have been meaning to reply to this for ages hence bringing this back up to the top.

I have an Ice Blue Yaris and it is on the V5 as BLUE

The manufacturer (Toyota) enters the vehicle details onto the V55 (First registration document) when the car is registered, the dealer tells the DVLA what Reg number the car is having and who owns it, the rest of the details such as chassis number/colour etc is supplied directly from Toyota to DVLA via this V55 document, so I wouldnt worry about what it says on the V5

Kingo
