Picnic Fob Reprogramming

does anyone know how to reprogramme the central locking fob on a 99 picnic the fob has 2 buttons lock/unlock put new Battery in and tried holding both buttons and then pressed one but nothing happens

I think this is it

INSERT KEY AND REMOVE IT,

USE DOOR SWITCH 5 TIMES,

CLOSE DRIVERS DOOR THEN OPEN,

USE DOOR SWITCH 5 TIMES,

KEY IN IGNITION,

TURN IGNITION ON TO LOCK 1 TO 4 TIMES (See below),

ADD MODE 1

REWRITE 2

CONFIRM 3

ERASE 4

REMOVE KEY,

PRESS TRANSMITTER SWITCH FOR 1 SECOND,

RECIEVER GOES LOCK TO UNLOCK ONCE,

CLOSE DRIVERS DOOR THEN OPEN,

PRESS TRANSMITTER FOR 1 SECOND,

{LOCK TO UNLOCK ONCE CODE CONFIRMED}

The timing for everything has to be spot on or else it wont work
