Toyota Celica Beams Red-top

Hi All,

This is my first post so please be kind. I have just bought a 1997 Toyota Celica BEAMS SS3, its has the 3S-GE Red-Top Engine. I live in the UK and the car was imported to the UK a few years ago from Japan. There was no owners manual/handbook with the car which I'm told is not a rare thing when cars are imported.

I would just like to know if someone could give me some information on the general maintenance of these engines and the car - like what sorts of fluids I should be putting into it for engine oil, power-steering fluid, break fluid etc.

If someone can tell me where or how to get an English manual for the car that would be great, as really want to look after it.

Any other tips on how to look after these engines would be appreciated as well.

Many Thanks,

Harz

Welcome Harnz.

Sorry, I can't help you with your question, but I'm sure there'll be someone who can along soon.

With regard to your brake fluid and power steering fluid I suggest you get in touch with East Shore Racing - 07714457051 - eastshoreracing@btinternet.com and ask for Phil. He can supply you with mountains of stuff that would suit your car, I am sure of that.

As for the engine oil contact Guy of Opie Oils and he will point you in the right direction.

As for most Toyota cars I reckon the service interval would be 10,000 miles but if you want to play it safe then shorten that mileage to 8,000.... you can never change the oil too frequently.

As for an English language service manual/handbook I am afraid I cannot help you there so all I can do is wish you luck
