hi my dad has a 1.8 nv 3 door model x plate rav 4. the drivers side check strap has been lost (dropped off)

where can i get one cheapish, maybe offline? toyota quote £50 just for the check strap which i think is very extreme for a bit of a metal bracket.

any info appreciated

The roll pins are a bit iffy and sometimes drop out. Take the door panel off as the strap can only drop inside the door. Refit it with a clevis pin or even a nut and bolt.
