Headlight Won't Pop (passenger Side Only - St182)

Hey,

Anyone know if there's a way of forcing the headlights to remain up? Currently my passenger side headlight won't pop up, I don't know wether this could be a fuse or the motor's had it or something. I assume there must be some sort of override to get it to pop manually (for safety reasons). The light actually comes on and I have no other electrical problems to my knowledge. I just need a quick fix to get throught the MOT before I start looking at troubleshooting this thing. I can put up with driving with them both up 24/7 for the time being.... ...just!

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers

When you lift the bonnet, next to each headlamp is a electric motor with a black rubber cap on it, remove the cap, this will reveal a winding knob, twist until headlamp is up, KEEP FINGERS AND HANDS AWAY FROM HEADLAMP AND LINKAGE, JUST IN CASE IT START TO WORK ON IT OWN AGAIN !.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Couldn't find anything resembling a knob to turn when I looked under the bonnet on my lunch break, guess I'm gonna have to find a torch and get myself underneath it after work to see if they're located on the underside of the unit.

My ST162 from the past has this manual wind-up control so i'm guessing the ST182 will have the same system.

eBay has come to my rescue, theres a couple of headlight units on there and the pictures appear to be showing the kind of adjustment you're desribing on the underside of the unit.

under the bonnet in the engine bay fuse box remove the 30 amp "RTR" fuse this will remove power from the motors

from under the car at the front bumper look up at the headlamp motors on the bottom there is a black rubber cover ..remove this it will reveal a white knob rotate this till each lamp is in the fully up position

I had managed to find the adjustment (cut hands to prove it lol), I didn't know about the fuse though. So my car currently has one up one down with the lights off B)

Is it the fuse box located by the Battery? Will pop the other light up and pull it so I don't look too rediculous during daylight hours.

Thans for all the guidance
