For many years I used to use Ultimate Diesel, which is the long standing equivalent of this Shell product. I tried to kid myself that economy was improved, and performance improved; but I am not so sure. I also heard rumours that the odd tank full improved emission readings at MOTs intervals. But at the end of the day this stuff costs 6 or 7 p more than what is in any event a very expensive product in standard form. Whether the long term effect of using ultimate was beneficial I do not know; you will have to ask the new owners of the vehicles I used it in, because as always I sold them on very early in their lives !!!!

i read that premium is 75 cetane and normal is only 51 cetane alot cleaner burning too , and at 113p a litre it gotta be worth it

I've personally found that BP Ultimate is better than V-Power diesel. Also, it's far easier to get hold of Ultimate as Shell only seem to sell V-Power diesel at a few outlets

It should be remembered that our normal diesel is of a lower quality than it is in Europe (due to the amount of bio fuel put into it) :censor:

I am still a fan of it, yeah its more expensive and probably doesnt quite pay for itself but my Passat goes further on it and has a much improved throttle response and pulls better on boost

i think i will try it today in my 130 tdi passat, maybe even throw in some millers 4 power additive for extra booooost . it may take me back to my gt4 days lol
