Rear Spring Broken

Hi,

I have a '00 Yaris 1.3 auto, and one of the rear springs has broken. Is this common on this car, can't say I've come across broken springs on any car before!

The car has done less than 70K and not driven that hard.

What would be my cheapest option to get this fixed? Get a replacement spring from the stealers?

Cheers, Des.

Maybe you have a lot of speedbumps in your area. Evidently broken springs are occurring increasingly due to the proliferation of speedbumps, so it is probably not a manufacturer issue, just more commonplace on all cars generally.

Hmmm, can't say that there are too many speed bumps around here, just seems a strange thing to break.

I have a price from the local motor factors now, £45

Just waiting on the local breakers to get back to me, then I'll get it sorted.

Cheers, Des.

It is increasingly common. Its happenned to people I know but they've all been Fords - a Ka, Focus and Mondeo. Manufacturers blame speed humps and state of our roads but its surely just further evidence of inferior parts these days.
