Bluetooth Connection....all Over Again!

Hello all,

Had My T180 for over two years now and have had no problems connecting my sony ericcson K800i after suffering poor problems with samsungs prior to that. The forums report Sonys being the most compatible with the hands free kit in the T180 and have to agree, auto connect when ignition on, signal strength, Battery life left all shown etc.

Upgraded my phone this week to the sony ericsson C905 (great phone!) and did not envisage any connection problems being the same make of phone.........how wrong i was!!!

Got the phone out of the box and deleted the K800 off the car and attempted to connect the C905, on the phones menu if you connect "handsfree" it finds the cars kit but "bluetooth connection failed" This the message I'm getting on the phone!

I know once I input the code from the car's system then I can hit the "Auto connect" button and that should be it, the phone will be permanently registered with the car but I cannot get that far!

I was sure this is how I did it last time, am I doing something wrong?

I realise this is an old topic but has anybody else got this phone and has connected successfully please let me know

I miss my handfree connection!!!

:(

Hi there,

Is your new phone "badged" by any of the networks? Posted on this issue earlier, but quick resume is: tried K880i at Carphone Wharehouse - the generic version connected with no problem but the "badged" version ( £20 cheaper ) would not connect. Anchorman recommends that you update the phone software to the latest version as that should work. Keep us all posted as to how you get on as it would be very useful info.

Good luck!

Chris

Success!!!

such a simple thing to do but it works a treat!

I trawled the internet and this forum and came up with this:

You need to get into the satnav diagnostic menu, to do this you

1. turn ignition to ACC only and make sure lights are set to off and not AUTO

2. The headunit will display the drive safely screen.

3. Whilst on this screen you simultaneously press the info button on the head unit and turn your lights on and off three times-this will take you to the diagnostic screen and there you will find bluetoothTEL settings.

At this point all I did was increase the volume from 0 to 1 on incoming and outgoing calls then exit this by turning the ignition off.

Go back into your bluetooth connection settings and register your handset.

I also went into handset and connected a HANDSFREE device, this should prompt you to enter your four digit code.

Once done you should find your bluetooth connection will be auto connected each time you turn ignition on.

Worth remembering if you change your mobile and have problems later.

cheers
