Pimp My Cruizer :p

Hi guys

We bought our LC4 D4D auto Landcruiser (a September 2003 [53 plate]) 120 series. I've recently started toying with the idea of trading it in for a BMW X5. But given the state of the world economy and recent plummets in resale values of 4x4 vehicles (mine at least), my wife and I have decided that we're keeping our car (Ratchet - after the Transformers movie) for good. Or at least until it breaks down.

So, what cool stuff that aren't too expensive can I add to my car for some character. From January/February, we'll have some spare cash and time to do proper offroading. Given this, what should I or could I get. My wife suggested that as a start, we spray paint the car in camoflage colours! I'm not sure about how this will look - I'd rather get cammo type magnet sheets to slap on.

I'd also love to tune it, but quotes of £350 aren't tickling my wife's fancy.

I'd also LOVE an LC5-type touch screen satnav thingy for the interior. What else - any ideas? Bear in mind that I am a child minder and I do the daily school run in it. So it can't go too far down the tube. However, given the right "equipment", like a 7.62mm gun on the roof and some bullet hole stickers, the boys at school might love it!

So the only rule is:

Reliability cannot be compromised!

LOL, quite true - though I was looking for ideas on how to improve my car's look and feel ;) Cammo won't do, but things like an LC5 screen with reversing camera would be nice. I'm just looking for ideas :)

If you want to do some offroading, a decent set of tyres is compulsory.

Some sort of brush guard at the front is also helpfull as well as some recovery gear.

Most people dont mind giving you a tug when you are stuck but you look like a fool without any recovery gear of your own.

I wouldnt add anything that is not needed. Its dead weight and looks like you are trying to prove something.

Also think about the resale value before you change the appearance;)

Well, the resale value is part of the problem! I looked at a BMW X5 recently and was offered £7500 for my car - great condition. I paid £16000 for it....
