2 weeks ago i noticed the heater wasnt blowing hot air so i posted on here and the good members suggested i was low on coolant and to fill up , i did just that and hey presto it worked a treat , tonight the same problem happened , no hot air!!! i went to coolant fill area and it was empty!!!!!!!admittedly i am a taxi driver and do say 1000 miles a week but i didnt think it would have needed a complete fill after just 2000 miles????????i had my sturdy 2003 2.2 vectra for 2 years and i put 240,000 miles on it and i honestly can say only had to fill up with coolant around 4 times in all!!( i might add the vectra is still going strong and starts first time evry time)is this the noraml with toyota???? do i have to fill up as regular as that????????? any ideas suggestions welcome ,, im going to MR T tomorow because i have a sort of humming coming from the front left and a clunky knocking clutch , do you think these could be related ?? they are keeping the car overnight just to check the injectors and checking the clutch , fingers crossed

hello

the problem might be very simple.

you've stated your engine suffered from a vibration (due to either injectors or clutch) --> ok in case of such the cooling system rubber hoses bands might be loosed resulting the coolant leak/s. moreover your car runs all day round as a taxi car.

i do not see another problem. wait for more folks suggestions on here.

cheers/Igor

You shouldnt lose that much coolant, you have a leak I'm sure!

Water pump would be a starting place, and of course the hoses should be checked before anything sinister is considered. With the level going down this often, there should be signs of a leak, but if it is the water pump, it might be difficult to spot unless you have the cover off

Kingo
