This might seem like a wierd question but I was wondering if anyone knows if a 2.0 Corolla E12 can be remapped? Or has it done.

Its just some cars cant be remapped and not many ppl on here seem to have a d4-d lol, u all have seems to have t-sports - lucky for some :D

I need more power xD [for personal enjoyment of course :)]

I believe anyone wanting more power for their Diesels tends to go for one of these, as they are plug and play. TTE Piggyback

They are claiming they can turn a 2.0 with the following stats:

Corolla E12

110 PS

81 kW

250 Nm

into

Corolla E12

140 PS

103 kW

295 Nm

No idea on pricing but I seem to remember they were on eBay for a while, and ridiculously cheap compared to the £5000 it would cost a TS owner to get an equivalent gain.

Its more about torque in the diesels aswell, i would defo get that chip! it will improve performance with gains like that. They are noticable gains aswell, some modifications you wont feel at all but something giving that much power will feel extremely different.

that chip is really expensive and its only 30bhp although the torque would increase a hell of a lot

but a good remap would cost around 200quid and up 2 50bhp could be achieved i.e. a golf from 100 - 150 easily

i was just curious because the guy at torquetronics in ballymena [northern ireland] said toyota wont release the codes for remapping so he writes his own :S lol - ill head over there shortly and see wot happens.

cheers anyway :)

ps: if anyone has had their toyota remapped - let me know ;)

The PD engines in the TDI VAG cars are naturally more tunable than the older D4D engines, whilst the TTE chip may not give as much gain as you want, its backed by the manufacturer and will have been tested. A local electrician will be able to map the car and give more than the 25% Power & Torque increase, but the chances are you will be the guinea pig. Bare in mind the fuel pump & Injectors will be £1,000+ to replace, so you may get a 50% power rise for a short time, then a massive repair bill when she goes

what if u remapped it similar to the tte chips specifications??

ill not let the guy go overboard on her - just a good safe remap :D

would be a lot cheaper than that chip lol

That would make more sense, they only dodge would be little support in the event of issues.

TTE=Should be safe - But Expensive

Local=Cheaper - What do you do if it goes wrong?

Tricky situation :g:

Hey,

I got a D-4-D SR slightly more tuned than the D-4-D but practically the same...

... i have had mine chipped for £139, the chip has given me a significant gain in power and i finally got to put it against another SR and i did beat it for pace 0-60ish you can find the chips on eBay... they are still there

As for the power gain im not sure how much more i have, but im going to this rolling day and hopefully ill see that i have a few more horses than standard 116bhp
