Automatic Problems

I have a toyota land cruiser 100 ser 4.2L. The automatic works fine in first and second, but in drive it has not go in it. What could cause this? The wife said she it a stick but I have looked underneath the the car and there marks are well away from any wires or pipes.

Do you mean 'hit' and how big was the stick :unsure: Could the wife possibly mean a log :huh:

All in all we do not have a lot to go on :rolleyes:
