Welcome  we have a couple of RAV4 drivers from the Channel Islands here already :)

Opps - Dave said already ;)

Took my RAV4 to Jersey once - for about 90 mins - enroute from St Malo to Weymouth. Looking forward to returning there soon

Thanks Hoovie, hope you enjoyed the full 90 minutes in the Channel Islands - Normally people stay for a bit longer!!

Just added some pics to the Rav 4 photos page, if you wanna see my new baby.

2 weeks every July for the past 15 years  I could say the same for Guernsey, but just for an hour every trip.

Not allowed to get off the ferry, at St Peter Port :(

Fair one, perhaps next year try Guernsey instead - much prettier island, and no I am not biased in the least!

I got to St Malo quicker then expected driving back from Spain so rejigged our Ferry times to allow us to drive off at the stop and give us the max time allowed to get a flavour of the place and was very impressed and deffo want to return!

Is that drive-off only allowed on the Jersey stop, not Guernsey, then?

Any good tips on getting a good deal on the Condor Ferry from UK to Channel Islands?

Not allowed off on the guernsey stop over I am afraid, Condors answer is 'its not long enough'.

To get the best deal book as far in advance as you can, as soon as the schedule is released is best.

Maybe see you over here at some point?

Sure hope so

Sort of in my mind is a week on both major Islands to experience both as I understand Jersey and Guernsey have distinctly different personalities

The islands sure do have different personallities - jersey tends to have a busier, more crowded feel, whilst Guernsey is more laid back, relaxed. B)
